What is it like to have me on your team?

I am trained in Mechanical Engineering, I excel at mentoring others, I am passionate about using work to impact the world, and my drive to optimize anything sets me apart.

My Role:

Mentor

Mentor is my leadership style, how I operate in a team when given the opportunity. Most of my ‘areas’ focus on my individual value, but we are each shaped by our team and our environment.

I am great at developing and coaching others. I thrive when building meaningful and supportive relationships within or between teams. I see what sets each of us apart, and I tap into those areas in people.

I focus on being the person my team can go to for support, rather than the authority that comes to them with restrictions. This empowerment enables team members to do better work and to find more fulfillment in what they do. There are always requirements for safety and efficiency that must be met, and there is always the opportunity to go above and beyond.

My Background:

Mechanical Engineer

My education and background fill a team’s need for problem-solving and analytical thinking. I can use my experience to fix, update, and improve my surroundings.

Mechanical Engineers all have a similar education, but we all approach our degree and our career differently.

My approach to engineering is a combination of my love for getting things done, and the value I bring to a team by adapting to new situations and thinking on my feet.

My Passion:

Work with an Impact

I love efficiency. I like to seize the day and get things done. I have tried and will continue to try different productivity methods to help me achieve that goal.

I’ve been privileged to have a lot of opportunities and resources available to me throughout my life. In every area of my life, I make a conscious effort to use that privilege to make a positive impact on the world.

My working style is an Integrator: my work and my life have no clear boundary. Work bleeds into life and life bleeds into work. Because of this, I need to feel that my work is making an impact in order to feel content with what I am doing in life.

My Value:

Pragmatic Cleverness

Pragmatic Cleverness is my answer to that famous interview question: “What sets you apart?”

I can and will optimize anything. A daily schedule, a meal plan, a team’s workload distribution, the joy of employees… I loathe the status quo, and my least favorite phrase is “Thats how it has always been done.”

If I was a little monster, I would have an all-seeing eye (for quickly analyzing every variable of a situation) and a bunch of tentacles (for adjusting those variables one at a time and determining their impacts).

The End Product

I am an ever-growing and changing individual. However, at my core, I will continue to be someone who uses my analytical problem-solving approach and my ability to bring out the best in others to optimize products, production lines, and workplaces. I am deeply invested in the work I do and the impact it has on my community and the larger world.
